CHARACTERS

Lonnie, a drunk
Una, a singer
Colm, a patron
Kelly, a bar owner
Hugh, a beat cop
Paul, a barback

Moira Kelly The young, vivacious proprietor of Kelly’s Irish Rose. She took over the business after her father died last year. For the past several months business has slacked off to the point that she thinks she may have to close the pub.
Colm McGinty Always looking to make a quick buck, he is a charming ne’er-do-well with a long line of schemes and a longer line of failures. He cares for Kelly, more than he can admit. They bicker constantly.
Lonnie A down on his luck leprechaun. Once a member of a clan of proud shoe-making elves, he has fallen on hard times since his family’s company was bought out by a large corporation. He drinks too heavily and worries about death. He also has “counter luck,” which causes things around him to go awry.
Hugh Kelly Moira’s brother. A hard-headed, down-to-earth cop with a superstitious underbelly, just like his father. He’s protective of his sister, and distrusts Colm.
Una Lonnie’s ex-girlfriend. A banshee who’s become a famous performance artist.
Paul The Barback from the successful bar across the street.
